About Therapy
If you feel stuck, alone or if you are finding it hard to see a way forwards, then therapy can be a confidential and safe space for you to talk about the things that are important to you and for you to feel heard.
Gestalt psychotherapy is an integrative, holistic and creative approach to therapy. It emphasises that people cannot be understood in isolation but only as part of the environment in which they live. It underlines the importance of the connection between thoughts, sensations, feelings and experiences and the settings in which they occur.
My approach is holistic and relational, so together we can explore how your world is constructed. I aim to help you increase your awareness, for example, where you may feel blocked, overwhelmed, wounded or confused. This process can help you get to know and understand yourself in a more embodied way. More awareness can lead to an unfurling of fixed patterns and create more meaningful responses in your life and in the relationships that are important to you.
'You can’t make a leaf grow by stretching it'
As a therapist, my aim is to both support and gently challenge you in navigating the divide between where you are now and where you want to be. Therapy can be a challenging process at times, but I believe it can be a rewarding and growthful opportunity.
