About Me
Accredited Gestalt Therapist
I am committed to working with you in a relational and holistic way. This means the relationship we build together is central to raising awareness of how you make sense of your experiences and relationships in the world around you. Working holistically means that I work with you as a whole person, paying attention to the embodied and psychological processes and how they link together, as well as the wider cultural and social contexts that are unique to you.
I am passionate about and specialise in body-orientated approaches to help you understand, express and integrate your individual experiences, when talking alone cannot. Working in this way can help cultivate more awareness of your needs and how they might be met. My extensive background in the creative arts also means I can offer creative approaches to therapy when it feels right for you.
I have over 27 years’ experience working in Higher Education and I hold expertise in supporting both educators and students in what has become an increasingly stressful environment that is impacting mental health negatively.
I have been practising therapy since August 2017 and I have experience of working with a diverse range of adults in voluntary sector, NHS and private practice settings. Alongside my private practice, I was previously a volunteer counsellor at Nottingham Counselling Services – a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) recognised and accredited service. Whilst I work with clients on a wide range of issues, I have a particular interest and expertise in supporting people with issues of trauma, identity, belonging, loss and grief.
